Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
