Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 Until ye come to the graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
