Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

YOU ARE OBSESSED by greed for more and more 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
