Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 till you reached the grave. 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
