Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 until you visit the graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
