Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
