Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
