Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you 1 until you reach your graves. 2 You shall know. 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
