Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 Again, ye soon shall know! 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
