Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you reach your graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You will be shown hell 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
