The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)

3 verses, revealed in Mecca after Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh) before The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), 1 the human being is doomed to suffer loss, 2 except for those who believe and do good deeds and exhort one another to hold fast to the Truth, and who exhort one another to stead-fastness. 3

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
