The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
