Al-Hummazah
The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
