Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in towering columns. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
