Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in endless columns! 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
