Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 covered down upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
