The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In columns outstretched. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
