Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In columns outstretched. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
