Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
