The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 to penetrate into the hearts. 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in endless columns! 9
