The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
