Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
