The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
