The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
