The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 It will engulf them. 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
