Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
