Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
