Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
