O you who believe, do not practice usury, charging doubled and redoubled (interest); but have fear of God: you may well attain your goal. 130 And save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for disbelievers. 131 Obey God and the Messenger so that you may receive mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another to attain to your Sustainer's forgiveness and to a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been readied for the God-conscious 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 And who, when they have committed an indecency or have wronged their souls, remember God and pray that their sins be forgiven, (for who but God can forgive sins?) and do not knowingly persist in their misdeeds, 135 Those! their meed is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens whereunder rivers flow; they shall be abiders therein. Excellent is the hire of the workers! 136 Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied. 137 This is a clear declaration for mankind, and a guidance and a warning for those who preserve themselves from evil. 138 And faint not, nor grieve; ye shall overcome, if ye are believers. 139 If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers. 140 and that God might render pure of all dross those who have attained to faith, and bring to nought those who deny the truth. 141 Or deemed ye that ye would enter paradise while yet Allah knoweth not those of you who really strive, nor knoweth those (of you) who are steadfast? 142 You were longing for death, before you met it.
