HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who gives the lie to all moral law? 1 Who turns away the orphan, 2 and urges not the feeding of the needy. 3 Ah, woe unto worshippers 4 who are heedless of their prayers (delaying them from their prescribed times), 5 Who dissimulate 6 Yet refuse small kindnesses! 7
