Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 and his wife, laden with firewood 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
