Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5
God the Almighty always says the truth.
