Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
