Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
