Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
