Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
