Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife, the bearer of fuel, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
