Al-Masad

Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
