Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
