Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
