Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
