Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
