Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
