Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
