Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
