Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
