Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 On her neck shall be a cord of twisted fibre. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
