Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And his wife, the bearer of fuel, 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
