Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
