Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of AbiLahab, and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
